A beautiful vintage Scandinavian-style bell pull, traditionally known as a klokkestreng, featuring cross-stitch woodland birds, evergreen foliage, berries and flowers. This form of decorative embroidered wall hanging was particularly popular throughout Norway, Denmark and Sweden during the mid-20th century.

Roughly 56” in length with tassel
This long decorative wall hanging features a repeating hand-worked cross-stitch design of birds among evergreen branches, leaves, berries and small flowers, worked in muted shades of forest green, olive, brown, rust, gold and blue-green against a warm cream ground.
The textile is finished with decorative gray-green braided trim around the perimeter and a substantial coordinating tassel at the pointed lower end. At the top is an unusual dark rusted patinated metal hanging ring featuring a decorative bird/foliate motif.
