Vintage German Wall-Mounted Holy Water Font / Stoup
Beautiful old German religious holy water font featuring a round hammered-metal backplate with an applied brass-tone cross and a rounded basin below for holding holy water.
The piece has a wonderful aged finish with natural patina, surface wear and oxidation consistent with its age. A small hanging loop on the reverse allows it to be displayed on the wall.
The reverse is clearly stamped “GERMANY.” No additional maker’s mark is visible. Purchased from an antique shop in the Netherlands.
A distinctive piece of European Christian devotional art, ideal for a home altar, prayer space, religious collection or vintage wall display.
