The glaze is warm ochre with green flecks and soft yellow-green, leaf-like patches, so the color shifts as light moves across it.

The flared, slightly angled rim suits a single stem or a few dried flowers. Shown with dried lavender, the bud vase sits comfortably on a bookshelf, mantel, windowsill or small console. The unglazed foot ring reveals a tan clay body. An incised mark on the base is difficult to read with certainty (see below).

The piece appears to date to the 1960s and reflects the mid-century drip and speckle glaze style. It has a quiet, earthy look that suits a vintage or collected home.

Measurements and condition

Height: [add] in

Widest point (base): [add] in

Weight: [add] oz

Material: glazed pottery

Mark: incised mark on the base, unclear.
