The bust-length figure has a beard and wavy, shoulder-length hair, rendered in a gold-toned medium. The black wood frame has a gold-tone inner liner and a wire hanger. Medieval in style, it works as framed wall art in the English brass rubbing tradition.

A handwritten label on the backing reads: James de Holveston 1378, Blickling Norfolk, Lord of the Manor of Blickling Hall from 1345 to 1378, rubbing made by Julie Bailey, February 2, 1969. The maker and date come from the label only, and a signature on the rubbing itself hasn't been confirmed.

Good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age, including minor nicks and edge wear to the black frame finish.
